Triathlon: Reid claims sixth place
Londonderry’s Aileen Reid secured a sixth place in the triathlon on the first day of the European Games in Baku.
The 32-year-old had been hoping to give the 55-strong Irish team a great start by landing a medal in Saturday’s race.
Her time of 2:03.30 saw her finish three minutes and 30 seconds behind winner and Olympic champion, Nicola Spirig of Switzerland.
Holland’s Rachel Klamer was second and Sweden’s Lisa Norden was third.
