Nominate your local sporting heroes

DO YOU know someone in the Borough of Antrim who has excelled in their sport this year or has been an outstanding role model to their club or team mates?

Is there someone in your local club that you simply could not do without? If so, then why not nominate them and honour their achievements at the annual Sports Awards.

The highlight of Antrim’s sporting calendar, the annual Celebration Evening, organised by Antrim Sports Advisory Association and Antrim Borough Council, will take place on Friday, February 22 at McLarnon’s Ramble Inn.

The focus of the evening is to recognise and reward the sporting achievements of the people of the Borough. Any individual, team or club based in the Borough, deserving recognition for their sporting achievements is eligible for nomination. Please remember that the winners are chosen from the nominations received, so if you do not want your favourite to miss out, get nominating now!

Norman Craig, Chairman of Antrim Sports Advisory Association said: “It has been a phenomenal year for sports men and women in Antrim, with many competing at national and international levels. The Awards are a great way of acknowledging both participation and achievement. There are eight categories including team, individual and coach awards as well as fair play and services to sport. I would encourage you all to get nominating and recognise talent and dedication!”

Nomination forms are available from Antrim Forum, Antrim Civic Centre and Old Courthouse or can be downloaded from www.antrim.gov.uk/sportsdevelopment

All nominations must be submitted by Friday, February 1, 2013.

If you would like to join the nominees at the Award Celebration Evening, tickets are £20 (including dinner and awards) and are available from Marie-Claire Mills, Antrim Sports Advisory Association T: 07788 270587 E.asaasport@hotmail.com
