“Two minutes before half-time I was coming in slightly unhappy that we were only 1-0 up at that stage, although David Cushley’s goal glossed it over a wee bit,” said Ferguson.

“Although we were working hard, I thought we didn’t retain the ball well enough. We probably should have scored three or four in the first half but 2-0 made the team talk a bit easier.”

“I was lucky enough when I was playing to be on the end of Stephen McBride’s crosses like that and Neal Gawley’s cross for our third goal was every bit as good. Neal has come in and has assisted in five of our goals this season and has scored one.

Matthew Tipton is disappointed he didn’t get a hat-trick with the one he put past the post and then hitting the post but hopefully he can go on from here.”
