Randalstown WI enjoy first meeting of 2012

PRESIDENT of Randalstown WI Deborah Rocke wished members a happy new year at the January meeting held recently.

Get well wishes were sent to Eileen Fitzsimmons.

The quiz team for the Slemish Area Quiz was selected with the following being chosen to represent Randalstown: Linda Houston, Pam Morrell and Deborah Rocke,

The speaker for the evening was Christine Doherty, the former Postmistress in Randalstown,

Christine along with her husband Danny had the holiday of a lifetime to celebrate their 40th Wedding Anniversary - a year in the planning and touring for six months,

Christine showed slides and told the ladies of their adventures from Cananda, North and South America, Thailand, Australia, Ethopia and Dubai to name a few.

Anne Speedeie thanked Christine for her very interesting talk.

Competition for the best packing tip was won by Karin Seymour, 2nd Jean McMichael and 3rd Elsa Sloan.

Singing the Countrywomen’s Song ended the evening.
