The Olympic Torch will make its way through the borough.

THE CELEBRATIONS will continue in Antrim, as the Olympic Torch makes its way through the Borough.

At 10.30am on Thursday, June 7, the Torch will leave Junction 5 on the M2 motorway and travel into Templepatrick.

From there, it will travel along the Belfast Road through Dunadry and Muckamore until it reaches Fountain Street in Antrim.

The Flame will progress down High Street, through Market Square, onto the Dublin Road and on to Antrim Forum.

At approximately 11.10pm, it will rest at Antrim Forum for about one hour, then continue on its journey to complete a lap of Antrim Stadium before reaching its final destination within the Borough - Antrim Lough Shore Park. The Flame will then embark on a different mode of transport as it cruises by boat across Lough Neagh to Ballyronan.

Mayor of Antrim, Councillor Paul Michael said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the local community to witness the spectacle of the Olympic Flame.

“I would encourage everyone to take to the streets and welcome the Flame. Make sure you don’t miss this historic occasion.”
