Muckamore WI meeting

PRESIDENT Florence McFarland welcomed everyone to the first meeting of Muckamore WI for 2013 and wished them all a Happy New Year.

A letter of thanks was read from Antrim Home Start for the generous contributions Muckamore WI had made to them in December.

On completion of all business, everyone participated in a Craft Evening which was led by the group’s own members.

Ladies took part in card making, door stops, decoupage and shamballa macrame bracelets.

Everyone enjoyed the evening and had something to take home at the end of the night.

Mrs Heather Kerr proposed a vote of thanks to everyone who had helped to make the evening such good fun.

The monthly competition which was “A Favourite Christmas Card” was won by Joan Gray. The birthday girl was Heather Kerr.

In conclusion to a busy evening everyone taxed their brains with the WI Quiz.

Heather Kerr, Evelyn Fleming, Jennifer Johnston and Dorothy Coulter (reserve) will represent Muckamore WI at the Area Quiz.

Florence then personally thanked everyone for making the evening a success and wished ladies all a safe journey home.

The next meeting will be held on Thursday, February 7, when Stephanie McCollam will speak of her Young Farmers Exchange Trip to Montana in June 2012.

New members would be made very welcome.
