Local donkey charity celebrates anniversary with Summer Fair

THE Donkey Sanctuary’s Templepatrick riding therapy centre is celebrating its first anniversary with a Summer Fair on Saturday, June 23 from 11am until 4pm.

The centre’s Summer Fair promises to be a fun-packed day for all. Activities include donkey cart rides, the chance to adopt a donkey, face painting, a bouncy castle, craft stalls, a fun dog show, climbing wall and children’s entertainment, a wildlife display, BBQ and much more!

Admission and parking are free.

Tina Symington, centre manager, said: “The Summer Fair is a double celebration for us as it marks a year since the centre was opened by The Princess Royal in June 2011.

“We’ve organised some great activities to keep the whole family entertained, and hope lots of people turn up to help us celebrate in style.

“Visitors will be able to meet our donkeys, take part in fun activities and tuck into a tasty barbecue.”

In the last 12 months, The Donkey Sanctuary’s Templepatrick centre has provided over 6,000 riding therapy sessions for children with additional needs from across the province.
