The quartet - three of whom come from Ballymena - were admitted to the league after interviews on Monday night.

Among them are Southside Rangers, who join from the South Belfast Youth League.

They are managed by Colin Stewart, a prolific goalscorer during his own Saturday Morning League career, who formed the team in 2008 and many of the original panel have come through the youth ranks together and are now preparing for their first taste of adult football.

It’s a similar story with Carniny Amateurs, who were formed as an off-shoot of the successful Carniny Youth set-up, to enable players to continue to represent the club when they become too old for youth football.

They have previously played in the Ballymena & Provincial League and spent last season in Division 2C of the Amateur League.

Northend & District and Larne-based Ruby’s Rovers complete the new arrivals for next season and they will take their place in an 11-team third division.

It is the latest success story for the league, which has been in existence since 1969.
