St Mary's Rasharkin v St Comgall's Antrim: Rasharkin were the hosts for this reconvened game in the U16 football league and they were the first team to get the scoring underway.
A fine point in the first minute was their reward for some good early pressure.

Antrim had several chances early on but couldn't convert.

First on the scoreboard for St Comgall’s was Jamie O'Hare with a well taken point four minutes into the
game. Next up was half-back David Toner with a very balletic goal for the Antrim side. Full-forward Aidy Matthews got his first score with a point at the nine minute mark.

St Comgall’s started to dominate and this domination paid off with a storming goal from Jamie O'Hare at the 10 minute point of the match.

St Mary’s worked the ball out of their half well and progressed down the field scoring a point after 17 minutes of the game gone.

A further foray into Antrim's half resulted in some desperate defending from St Comgall’s resulting in the St Mary’s half-forward being hauled down in the box.

Referee Gerard Duggan - who was having his usual high standard game - indicated a penalty. The well taken penalty was equally well saved by Man of the Match Ben Johnson who would go on to stop several point blank goal efforts from an increasingly desperate St Mary’s team later in the game.

Antrim's wing-forward Gareth Brammeld got a point to help steady the ship and another goal from half-forward Miles Devine at 21 minutes further helped Antrim to get back on track. Half-back Aaron Harris was having a brilliant game doing well to contain Rasharkin’s biggest and best player despite the obvious size difference.

Jamie O'Hare got himself another score with a point in the 23rd minute bringing his personal tally so far to a goal and two points.

St Mary’s must have sensed the imminent defeat at home and moved it up a gear trying desperately to get some goals but superb saves from Ben Johnson in the 24th and 28th minutes denied St Mary’s a come-back. Rasharkin would get the last score of the 1st half with a point in the 29th minute.

Half-time score was St Mary’s 0-3 to St Comgall’s 3-4.

Rasharkin continued were they left off at the end of the first half with a fine point right from the throw-in. This dominance by Rasharkin would be short lived with St Comgall’s finding their feet again and never looked back from this point.

Sam Walsh got himself a brace of points one of them a fine free-kick in the 34th minute. Aidy Matthews got his second score of the game with a well taken goal with nearly three-quarters of the game gone.

There was no way back for St Mary’s at this point and they were now playing for honour. Rasharkin got themselves a further five points in what was left of the game but for the fine saves of ben Johnson the score line would have been a lot closer.

The scorers for St Comgall’s were, Jamie O'Hare 2-3, David Toner 1-0, Aidy Matthews 1-1, Gareth Brammeld 0-1, Miles Devine 1-1, Peter McAuley 0-2, Sam Walsh 0-2 and Kricky Donnelly 0-1.

The final score was St Marys 0-9 to St Comgalls 5-12.
