MASSEREENE Golf Club captain Sean McHugh has said that the club is priviledged to have been chosen for the second time in five years to host the British Blind Open Golf Championship.
Extending a warm welcome from all at Massereene to participants, visitors and volunteers, Mr McHugh wished everyone a successful and enjoyable few days but most of all good golf during the event which runs from August 6 to 8.

County Antrim man Sam Smyth, from Cullybackey, has won the British Open three times in its history and is also the defending champion from last year.

"Let’s hope sam can join Padraig Harrington and keep the trophy at home," Sean said.

Gary Henry, general manager at Massereene, commented that he and all his staff were looking forward to being part of this event and watching it unfold following weeks of preparation.

Members of the general public are encouraged to come along to Massereene to show their support for this unique event and witness the high standard of golf achieved by these remarkable sports men and women.
