LADY Captain Margaret McKay hosted her Lady Captain's Day at Antrim Golf Club last Friday.
Margaret combined the event with a very successful 'Pink Day', in aid of breast cancer.

All her guests sported the colour and made generous donations to the charity.

The relaxed atmosphere saw 42 players, including the Lady Captain's invited guests, take to the course, which has been steadily improved to provide a greater challenge.

Margaret hosted a gala evening which included a gourmet meal, followed by dancing.

The prizes, which had a golfing theme, with apt colours, were presented by Margaret and the winners were:

Lady Captain's Prize - Collette Hennessy; High Section: winner - Enid McGerr; runner-up - Breda Donnelly; Low section: winner - Audrey Finlay; runner-up - Jennifer Wallace; Best front nine - Maire Stroud; Best back nine - Margaret Magill; Past Captains' prize - Nanette Stewart.

Committee prize - Shireen McCambridge; Classic prize - Elizabeth Magee; Nearest the pin - Audrey Finlay; Longest drive - Margaret Magill; Men's prize - Billy Crandles.

Margaret thanked her Lady Vice-Captain Georgina Patchett, committee members, greens staff, Robert the chef and all the catering staff.
Thanks were also extended to Marie Agnew, the Council staff and the lady members who had helped her arrange her special day.

Thanks went to Joan Brown for the outstanding floral arrangements; John Condie, who had taken the taken the day's photos as well as his ever-present support and assistance.

Margaret's special guests included her parents and close family and her father Bobby made a fitting speech on behalf of the family.

Margaret proved to be a very popular Lady Captain and this was evident in the thanks she extended for the many gifts and cards she received for her special day.
