THE Galleon Darts Club held their Individual championship on Friday night, with eight players taking part.
In an exciting final, the best of five legs, the Northern Ireland No 2 lady player Grace Crane beat Lawrence Lyttle 3-1 with Lawrence winning the first leg.

In the first round, Grace beat her husband Tim 2-0 with a great 120 finish in both legs.

Jacko Cowan beat JM Matthews 2-0; Lawrence Lyttle beat Ronnie Nicholl 2-0 and in the battle of the veterans, Charlie Creighton (who celebrated his 70th birthday last week) beat William Hemming 2-0.

In the semi-finals, the amazing Grace beat Jacko Cowan 2-1 and Lawrence Lyttle, who was also in tip-top form, beat veteran Charlie Creighton 2-0.

After the final, Grace provided a little supper to all the players and members of the bar. It was a pity that a few of the other top players had other plans on Friday evening.

Meanwhile, the committee of the Antrim and District Darts League are holding a special meeting in the Top of Town clubroom on Monday, May 19 at 8pm.

On the agenda is a revision of the rules for next season and it is requested that all teams who are going to participate in the 2008/2009 league are requested to be present.

This revision of the rules will save a lot of time at the AGM when the changes have to be passed.

All the clubs who are going to attend the annual prize-giving dinner in the Middle House, Crumlin, on Friday, May 30 are requested to have the number of members and guests from each club, their money and selection of menu. After the dinner and prize distribution, a karaoke will take place.
