When he saw police a Lurgan man raised both of his hands in the air and extended his middle fingers to them.

He was Thomas Hamilton (19), Lower Toberhewney Lane, Lurgan, and last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court he was fined £150 for disorderly behaviour on February 23 this year.

The court heard that at 1.50am a police mobile patrol in High Street, Lurgan, saw the defendant. As they passed he made the gesture.

When police spoke to Hamilton he said: “Where’s your f—king proof.”

Mr Richard Monteith, representing the defendant, said Hamilton had got a job and he had obviously spent some of his wages on drink on this occasion.
