Stay safe this Gas Safety Week

ANTRIM Borough Council has pledged its support for the second annual Gas Safety Week, which takes place this week.

Organised by Gas Safe Register, the official list of registered gas engineers, the aim throughout the week is to raise awareness of gas safety in the home.

Pauline Herbison, Senior Environmental Health Officer with Antrim Borough Council. said: “Gas Safety Week gives the opportunity to put gas safety at the top of everyone’s priority list. Making sure your gas appliances are safe to use could save your life. We want people to understand the real risks posed and help people to stay gas safe. ”

Paul Johnston, Chief Executive at Gas Safe Register said, “With Gas Safety Week we want to encourage the public to only use Gas Safe registered engineers to fit, fix and service their gas appliances and to raise awareness of the importance of having an annual gas safety check.”
