Parades Commission outreach event in Antrim

SOUTH Antrim MLA Trevor Clarke has called on local people to have their say at a Parades Commission outreach event to be held at the Antrim Civic Centre on March 6, between 6pm and 8pm.

The event is open to all interested parties and members of the public to attend.

Mr Clarke said: “The Parades Commission have declared they are ‘keen to engage with as many interested parties, people and organisations about parading as possible’.

“From personal experience, this is a change of direction from the Parades Commission, so I would strongly recommend that people from the Unionist community attend and share their views about the handling of parades in South Antrim.”

Mr Clarke added: “The Parades Commission has been seen as a somewhat closed organisation which the public cannot gain access to or share their concerns with.

“This is therefore a golden opportunity to tell Commissioners exactly how you feel about the decisions they make with regards to Parading in this Province.

“I would urge all who are interested to attend this event and make your voice heard.”
