NI Water take part in Horticulture 2012
HORTICULTURE 2012, a one-day event, was held recently as part of the 100th aniversary celebrations of Greenmount.
Staff from the Crops and Horticulture Development Branch, CAFRE, Ulster Farmers’ Union and the Association of Landscape Contractorsof Ireland organised the event which was aimed at commercial and amenity horticulture businesses (fruit, vegetables and ornamental crops).
NI Water supported and provided advice on water efficiency.
The event, which included demonstrations, seminars and a trade exhibition, also addressed a wide range of topics such as soil, water, waste management, crop nutrtion and renewable energy options.
Christine McAllister, NI Water’s project communications manager, said: “Water is a vital component in the development of crops and plants and NI Water was delighted to support this event and provide advice on the water afficiency.
“Events such as these are a great opportunity to work with members of the local community and we are delighted with the positive feedback we recieved at Horticulture 2012.”
