Man assaulted in Steeple estate

POLICE in Antrim are investigating an assault and robbery that took place in a car park in the Steeple Estate.

A 65-year-old man was set upon by an unknown male shortly after exiting his car close to the Parkhall shops at around 4pm.

A second unknown male then joined in, removing an envelope containing cash from the victim.

The two attackers left the area at speed in a blue car.

The incident happened on Thursday, September 20 but details have just been released by police.

The first male is described as around 5’ 9”, muscular with longish mousey brown hair.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police in Antrim on 0845 600 8000.
