LPS info for customers who pay by Direct Debit – Ulster Bank continuing technical difficulties

LAND and Property Services (LPS), which collect rates on behalf of central and local government, is issuing the following advice to customers who pay by Direct Debit in light of the ongoing technical difficulties being experienced by Ulster Bank.

LPS offer ratepayers who pay by Direct Debit a choice of three collection dates – around 7th, 15th or 28th of the month.

In light of the current ongoing Ulster Bank technical difficulties there is a possibility that customers whose Direct Debit for rate payments normally comes out at the end of the month will be affected. This month payments are due on June 29.

LPS is advising that customers do not need to take any action. If LPS does not receive the rate payment on June 29 they will request a double payment on July 31.

Customers should ensure that they leave adequate funds in their account to cover the double payment which will automatically be taken.

If your payment is scheduled to be taken at the end of this month and does not come out, and you are unable to manage a double payment in July, then you should contact LPS Direct Debit Team by July 19 on telephone number 0300 200 7801 to seek an alternative payment arrangement.

For further information customers can visit the nidirect website: http://www.nidirect.gov.uk/ddpayments or can contact the LPS helpline by telephoning 0300 200 7801 between the hours of 9am and 5pm Monday to Thursday and 10am to 5pm on Friday.
