Junior Orange to celebrate Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with Antrim parade

JUNIOR members of the Orange Order will mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with a parade in Antrim on Saturday, June 2.

It will be the biggest Junior Orange event of the year with 80 lodges on parade, accompanied by 40 bands.

The parade will assemble on Fountain Hill in Antrim at 12 noon and move off at 12.30pm.

The order of parade will be Grand Lodge Officers and visitors, Antrim Junior County, Junior Women’s Orange Lodge, Armagh Junior County, Belfast, Down, Londonderry and Tyrone.

Among the most senior officers of the Junior Orange Order will be Leslie Bell, Grand Master and Tommy Ross, Grand Secretary.

The parade route is Fountain Hill, Fountain Street, Church Street, High Street to Castle Grounds and playing fields behind the Antrim Forum. The return parade will assemble and move off at 3.40pm.

A special medal has been produced to mark the occasion.
