‘Get Set’ employment roadshow comes to Antrim Library

JOBSEEKERS can get an insight into improving their employment prospects, at a special road show in Antrim Library on Thursday, January 17 from 12.00pm until 4.00pm.

The event, entitled ‘Get Set’, is one in a series of roadshows being staged at various libraries across Northern Ireland. In Antrim Library, a range of providers will be on hand to provide advice and offer support to those looking for work, applying for jobs, going for interviews, coping with redundancy or aiming to start their own business.

Exhibitors at the road show will include: Jobs and Benefits, Careers Service, The Prince’s Trust, University of Ulster, Volunteer Now, St. Mary’s College, Boost, Child Maintenance Support, Citizens Online and many others.

Jobseekers will also be able to enjoy a motivational workshop that will focus on ways to boost your confidence when job hunting. This workshop will take place from 2.30pm until 4.00pm.

Valerie Nicholson, Adult Learning Manager with Libraries NI said: “Libraries NI is excited about bringing a range of employment and training organisations together in this way. We hope that it will act as a real drive to support local people in their search for employment and help entrepreneurs get the advice they need to start their business of the future.

“With free computer sessions and trained staff to provide advice and support, our libraries can support jobseekers and entrepreneurs in many ways, especially in today’s climate when so much information is available online.”

Representatives from Libraries NI will be present at the roadshow to demonstrate how to use library resources to help customers find the right job related information.

Admission to the event is free, refreshments will be provided and everyone is welcome to call.
