Children find shotgun

POLICE in Antrim have appealed for information after a group of children found a shotgun in the Ballycraigy area on Thursday.

The shotgun was discovered by the children in a laneway to the rear of Fernwood Park at around 3.25pm.

The children alerted an adult who subsequently reported the find to police.

Police examined the item and ATO were tasked. The weapon has now been taken away for further examination.

Police would ask anyone who knows anything about this incident to contact them at Antrim Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
