THE BANK of Ireland and Antrim Show representatives met up at Balmoral Show to announce a new sponsorship deal for Antrim Show Gourmet Food Village.
The Bank will now become one of the major sponsors for Antrim Show being held on Saturday, July 28.
William Thompson,(Agri Manager NI) Bank of Ireland, said: “We are delighted to be associated with Antrim Show – especially the Food Village - which showcases a range of local and regional foods and does so much to appeal to the consumer on whom our agricultural sector depends so much.”
Mayor of Antrim, Councillor Paul Michael said: ”Antrim Borough Council is proud to support the Antrim Show, which has a long and distinguished history in the Borough. It is a credit to the organizers that each year the Show continues to grow in popularity and brings visitors from far and wide. This is due in no small measure to the organizing committee who are continually seeking to introduce new attractions such as the Gourmet Food Village.”
Alistair Lindsay, Director of the Antrim Show Food Village stated,” Having looked at the impressive exhibits in the Balmoral Food Hall I was most impressed with the range and quality of food on offer. In our two years so far with our own Food Village we have been building up the range of foods on display and developing the interest from the public. So much so, that it has now become one of the major attractions of our show for both the rural public, and especially for those with indirect or second generation farming connections. We are most grateful to Bank of Ireland for their support which will be used to provide more display materials and an improved support infrastructure for our exhibitors.”
Alistair went on to comment, “The food display area will be one part of the Gourmet Food Village. Adjoining this will be a food preparation and cooking display and we hope to feature an area concentrating on food safety. In addition we plan to have an associated event designed for the local catering trade and accommodation managers mounted by N I Tourist Board and Good Food NI. So if you are interested in food – and lets face it we all are - Antrim Show will be the place to be on Saturday, July 28.”
