BALLYCRAIGY Primary School has started off the new term by winning £1,000 and a commemorative plaque in the Co-operative’s Green Schools Revolution.
Chris McGaughan, Chairman of the NI Co-operative Council, joined the school’s ‘Green Fingers Club’ last week top present the award.
The school’s eco projects include a school greenhouse, growing vegetables, tomatoes, flowers and keeping hens in the school garden.
Ballycraigy Primary School’s environmental efforts have also seen the school being crowned joint winner of Antrim Borough Council’s Enviornment Award in 2011, as well as achieving Gold Level in the RSPB Wildlife Action Awards.
