Antrim has the Best Local Authority Service Team

ANTRIM Borough Council’s Customer Service team has been awarded the Best Local Authority Service Team at the Northern Ireland Local Government Awards.

The annual NILGA Awards are designed to showcase the best examples of service provision, new initiatives and personal commitment from both Elected Members and Officers.

They show public recognition while awarding excellence in frontline local government public services.

Mayor of Antrim, Councillor Roy Thompson said: “Antrim Borough Council believes passionately in putting its customers at the heart of everything it does.

“This NILGA award comes hot on the heels of the Gold Star for Excellence in Customer Service that the Council was awarded recently by the Centre for Competitiveness supported by Invest NI.

“It is yet further recognition that Council is fulfilling its vision of being a progressive and innovative organisaton. I congratulate the Council’s Customer Service team on this success and encourage them to continue their excellent work.”

Deputy Mayor of Antrim, Councillor Roderick Swann said by achieving first place for “The Best Local Authority Customer Services Team Award” and one of the top 3 finalists for “The Human Resource Services Award” the hard work and commitment of the council had paid off.

““These Awards are highly acclaimed by councils across the Province which is evident in the high level of entries and the obvious delight from the winning councils,” Cllr. Swann said.

He added: “These achievements recognise that the rate payers of Antrim are well served by the council.

“I was delighted to be at the Awards Presentation along with the Mayor and Council staff and

my sincere congratulations go out to all who contributed to winning these prestigious Awards.”
