369 people spent more than 12 hours in A&E
ALMOST 400 people had to wait for over 12 hours in A&E at Antrim Area Hospital in the last three months.
A total of 369 spent more than 12 hours in A&E between April to June.
The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety released the figures last week into the time spent waiting in emergency care departments within Northern Ireland during the months of April, May and June.
Antrim Hospital remains one of the worst performing hospitals for the number of people having to wait over 12 hours.
Seventy-eight people waited over 12 hours in April, 198 in May, and 93 in June.
Over the same three-month period, a total of four people waited more than 12 hours at Altnagelvin, 215 at Causeway Hospital, 238 at the Royal Victoria Hospital, and 137 at the Mater. Only the Ulster Hospital had more people wait more than 12 hours - 385.
Over the the three-month period, a total of 18,019 people attended the Antrim Hospital’s A&E department.
Sixty-seven per cent waited under four hours in the A&E in April, 59.8 per cent in May, and 66.9 per cent in June.
