Young Enterprise NI – the leading business education charity – brought business to life for local young entrepreneurs at their annual Trade Fair at Abbeycentre in Newtownabbey.
Students from Parkhall Integrated College are taking part in the Young Enterprise Company Programme, whilst students with special needs from Riverside School are taking part in the Team Programme. These young people have spent much of the academic year developing businesses as they learn new skills in entrepreneurship and business management. The trade fair provides an opportunity for businesses to bring their products to market and test their sales skills by trading with the general public.
Parkhall Integrated College students have set up their business named ‘The Natural Scent Co.’ producing a range of naturally scented soaps and gift boxes. The Riverside School group had a collection of Valentine’s Day gifts available to shoppers capitalising on the seasonal market.
Abbeycentre’s Centre Manager Mark Stewart hosted and judged at the event: “The Abbey Centre is delighted to be, once again, working in partnership with Young Enterprise NI to offer schools in the local area the opportunity to showcase the talent of their young people and to encourage and support their entrepreneurial spirit. We are in our 18th year of supporting this event and year after year we are always impressed with the high standard of creativity and enthusiasm from all of the young people involved. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of the young people taking part and wish them well for the future.”
