A free talk will take place on Wednesday, September 4 at 7pm in Toome House, Toomebridge, on the European hare in the north of Ireland and its impact on the Irish hare.
Ruth Wilson, Biodiversity Officer with Antrim Borough Council said: “The aim of the talk is to raise awareness on the presence of the European hare in the north of Ireland and to hear about research that Queen’s University student, Anthony Hallam, is doing at present. South Derry is one of the few areas where both species overlap. The talk will tell us how we can help to identify the two species and how to assist in research if you come across hares in your local area.”
