The local community is being urged to be aware of road closures and disruption ahead of this weekend’s Giro D’Italia.
While the 100-strong race peloton is due to arrive in the borough at around 11am, road closures will be in place from 8.30am to 12 noon.
The Giro route through the Antrim Borough includes the Antrim Road, Templepatrick; Belfast Road, Dunadry; Fountain Hill; Stiles Way; and Ballymena Road, Antrim, and as a result these roads will be subject to closures.
Assistant Chief Constable Alan Todd confirmed “there will be disruption”.
“My advice to people is - if you are a cycling fan make your plans early, get up early and get a good place,” ACC Todd said.
He added: “If you’re not, have a lie in, make plans for somewhere else that day. - If you don’t want to be part of it, give it a wide berth.”
