Newtownabbey Council is pressing ahead with plans for new offices at its Mossley Mill headquarters.
Despite the elections for the new Antrim and Newtownabbey council only being held this week, Newtownabbey councillors last week decided to press ahead with plans for more offices at the Mill.
It is understood the business case for the refurbishment of a building, referenced only as ‘C’, was presented and approved in February as part of the capital budget setting process for 2014-15.
The business case included a budget of up to £800,000, excluding VAT to convert the building to a standard fit for general accommodation.
Newtownabbey councillors last week agreed to progress this scheme for a tender be issued for the appointment of design consultants.
