Antrim Town Sinn Féin Councillor Noel Maguire has warmly welcomed the construction of a new footpath which is underway between Kent Court and the Community Centre in Rathenraw.
Cllr Maguire said: “I had been lobbying the Roads Service since last summer for the construction of this footpath following concerns raised by residents. Previously I had been advised that construction of the path was deemed a major project which could not be undertaken. However, after speaking with Roads Service it appears that the necessary funds have been made available and it is hoped that the path will be completed as soon as Friday afternoon. Thankfully, this new footpath should now provide a safer route for residents, particularly children and young people attending the Youth Scheme, and older residents of the estate visiting the Community Centre. I would like to express my gratitude to Roads Service for this long awaited and much needed improvement.”
