On a beautiful summer evening members and friends of Muckamore WI held their annual outing to Glenarm Castle.

With the sun shining the bus journey along the coast road to Glenarm was amazing and the Castle itself was very striking.

Adrian Morrow, Estate Manager, gave a tour of some of the impressive rooms of the Castle and relayed some fascinating stories.

The tour was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone and Adrian was thanked and presented with a small gift for sharing his expertise regarding the Castle.

Members then enjoyed a stroll in the impressive walled garden when some members seemed a lot more knowledgeable about plants and flowers than others.

As usual any outing would not be complete without having a meal and members were not disappointed with the meal which was provided in the Tea Room.

Elizabeth Gray proposed a vote of thanks to the caterers.

Congratulations were then expressed to Mrs McCloy on the birth of a new great grandson, Elizabeth Holmes and Ruth Wilson on the birth of new granddaughters.

The birthday girl for June was Linda Browne and the winner of the on the spot competition was Sharon Carson.

Thanks were expressed to Gwen Campbell and Margaret Mcgreggor for organising the evening which had been thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
