South Antrim DUP Assembly Members, Pam Brown MLA and Trevor Clarke MLA, have visited Antrim Delivery Office to pass on their best Christmas wishes and encouragement to the postmen and women at their busiest time of year.

They were shown around the office by local Delivery Office Manager, Michael Bradley and were introduced to the local postmen and women who are working hard doing their bit to sort and deliver all the cards and parcels for the Antrim area in the run-up to Christmas.

Speaking during their visit, the MLAs said: “It was great for us to meet the hard-working Royal Mail postmen and women at Antrim Delivery Office and to see first-hand just how much effort they put into delivering for people at this time of year.

“With an increase in internet shopping we rely more than ever on the invaluable service the staff provide for their customers.’

“Postmen and women do such an important job every month of the year and we should all be very grateful for their efforts, particularly during the cold winter months when they are at their busiest.

“We would like to wish them all the best over the busy festive period and thank them for their year-round hard work.”

“Our postal staff are vital in keeping friends and family in touch at this time of year and it is important that we remember to post our cards and gifts early.”

The recommended last posting dates for mail are: Friday, December 20 for 1st class items, Wednesday, December 18 for 2nd class items and Monday, December 23 for Special Delivery items
