The Chippy in Antrim has made it to the finals of this year’s Marketing Innovation Award for the 2014 National Fish & Chip Awards, organised by Seafish.
Sponsored by The Q Partnership and open to fish and chip businesses throughout the UK, the Marketing Innovation Award is designed to showcase the use of creative marketing and promotions techniques, and reward those businesses that have used innovative thinking while developing their communication strategies.
The Chippy will now be invited to a prestigious awards ceremony, which will be held in London in January, where they will be competing against Quayside in Whitby, North Yorkshire, and Poppies Fish & Chips in Spitalfields, London, to be crowned the overall winner of the Marketing Innovation Award.
The Chippy’s Joanne Graham said: “We are so excited to be a finalist for this award, because we hadn’t heard anything we thought maybe we hadn’t got through so this is a big surprise.
“We have just finished rejuvenating our branding and launched our new website, menus and uniforms which has also given our staff a real boost. A highlight has been the launch of our new ‘chip family’ cartoon characters for the kids which, along with our regular community competitions, has kept the whole team really busy.
“Being shortlisted for the Market Innovation Award is a great reward for all the hard work The Chippy team has put in over the last year. It’s a great feeling.”
Duncan McLean, Chairman of The Q Partnership Marketing Team, said: “The three shortlisted finalists have shown themselves to be creative forward thinkers and they are setting the standard for their industry peers.”
