Local Councillor Noel Maguire has expressed his delight at proposed road improvements at Stiles Way.
As the Times reported last week, two road improvements schemes totalling £1.5million are to get underway in the Stiles Way and Steeple Road areas.
“I am delighted that a successful application to the Active Travel Demonstration Projects Scheme will see improved footpaths and a cycle lane along the full length of Stiles Way and part of Fountain Hill. This will go a long way to providing enhanced pedestrian and cycle routes to local schools, work and public amenities,” Cllr. Maguire said.
He added: “I am also very pleased that at long last the Steeple lights junction is to be addressed. This bottleneck has been a source of consternation for local road users for several years and they will welcome any improvement in the flow of traffic through this main junction.
“I understand that major improvements here will include the provision of filter lanes which should bring substantial relief.”
