Grants available for local community groups

Antrim Borough Council’s Community Development and Festivals Grant Programmes is seeking applications from local community groups.

Grants available cover support for areas such as community premises, community insurance, summer schemes and technical assistance to help with group training and development costs and community outreach activity which covers seeding grants for new groups.

Support is also available for either one day or longer themed events which are open to the whole community and improve community cohesion.

Rhoda Gray, Community Services Manager with Antrim Council, said: “It couldn’t be easier for groups to apply as it can all be done online at antrim.eformz.info. If your group hasn’t used the online grant system before, compulsory support sessions will be taking place on Wednesday, February 5 at 2pm or 6.30pm in Antrim Civic Centre.

“The council has also organised free of charge, one to one sessions with Community Change who will give advice on completing an application. These will take place on Tuesday, February 11 and Thursday, February 13 from 4pm to 8pm in Antrim.”

The closing date for applications to both programmes is Thursday, February 27 at 4pm.

For further information or to book places for the support sessions please contact Tracy Hefferon on 9446 3113 ext. 1342 or email tracy.hefferon@antrim.gov.uk

Antrim Borough Council would like to thank the Department for Social Development for part-funding the Community Development Grants Programme and the Department of Culture, Arts & Leisure for part-funding the Festival Grant Programme.
