The directors of Randalstown ARCHES Association have expressed their delight at the recent appointment of Elisha Devlin as their new Community Development Officer.
Elisha has lived in Randalstown for quite a number of years and is familiar with the area and that, combined with her formal qualifications and experience, makes her the ideal person for the job.
Elisha said: “Working for ARCHES is a challenge that I am really looking forward to.
“I know how much the group has done over the past years to improve the town and district and I realise that a lot is expected of me but I hope they will not be disappointed in either the quantity or quality of my work.”
Just before Elisha was appointed the group carried out a review of their strategy which will point the way to what they will be doing in the coming years.
Elisha added: “I am very much looking forward to receiving the report from Community Change who carried out ARCHES’ recent strategy review. This will give us guidelines to what the community wants to see us doing over the next 5 years.
“Obviously many of the projects we are currently involved in will continue but I hope we can build on that and branch out into other areas which will also be of benefit to the community.”
George Graham, chairman of ARCHES, said: “ARCHES couldn’t operate to the standard they currently do if they didn’t have a fulltime worker. Elisha has already shown she has great aptitude and enthusiasm for the job and I know she is committed to working for the good of the community.
“Her local knowledge and empathetic approach make her the ideal person for the job and the directors all look forward to working with her for many years to come.”
