Sinn Fein’s Annemarie Logue has topped the poll in the Airport DEA.
Ms Logue secured 1,212 votes, meeting the quota of 1,032, at the first stage of the count.
Speaking to the Times, Ms Logue said she was very proud to have been the first person to be elected in the new Aiport ward.
“I’m absolutely ecstatic and over the moon and I have to thank my fantastic election team and family for all their support,” Ms Logue said.
She added that she was looking forward to the challenges of being part of the new ‘super council’.
“One of the key issues people raised with me during canvassing was transport and getting the rail link from Crumlin up and running again and that is something I will be trying to address,” Ms Logue said.
