Antrim Borough Council, in conjunction with the British Deaf Association (Northern Ireland), met with the deaf community recently to discuss Council Services.

The event was held as part of the Council’s continued approach to customer consultation.

Elaine Magee, Assistant Director of Human Resources said: “The Council has been very proactive in establishing a Disability Action Plan.

“Part of this plan has promoted training of front line staff in sign language and has encouraged a positive attitude towards deaf customers.
