Integrated schools have been celebrating Integration Week with activities on this year’s theme of ‘Building Bridges’.

At Parkhall Integrated College, events included pupils investigating the science of bridge building using straws; the technology involved in constructing bridges; researching famous world bridges and their geographical location.

Year 9 pupils made paper links during LLW class, while Round Tower and Glengormley Integrated Primary Schools visited Parkhall’s Art Dept. to help make paper chains and build a bridge.

Year 10 pupils enjoyed ‘Africa United’ – a DVD telling the story of friends working together, accepting difference, and struggling to achieve their goals, and Year 9 visited Stormont to display the paper links and celebrate Integration Week with the other 60 Integrated schools in Norther Ireland.

Each year, Integration Week gets bigger and better, and it has become an annual event in Parkhall.
