The UK is celebrating its first Small Business Saturday on December 7 and Antrim Enterprise Agency is encouraging both local businesses and residents to get behind the grass root campaign.
“Small Business Saturday is all about encouraging everyone in the UK to support small businesses, both on the day and beyond,” Jennifer McWilliams, of Antrim Enterprise Agency, said.
The initiative, created in America in 2010, encourages people to ‘shop local’ and support small businesses in their communities.
She added: “Small Business Saturday is a great chance for small businesses to promote themselves and generate trade. We would encourage businesses throughout Antrim borough to plan special deals for customers, showcase events and much more. Small Business Saturday works when small businesses take action.”
The enterprise centre wants all kinds of small businesses to get involved, whether you are a family business, local shop, online business, wholesaler or small manufacturer. The best and easiest thing people can do to support the day is to tell their friends, family and customers about it.
