Asda Antrim has been presented with the Antrim Community Excellence Randox Business Award.

The company is committed to making a positive impact on the local community through their groundbreaking Community Life programme, which was launched in 2012.

The aim of the community life programme is simple – to make the areas around their stores better places to live, work and grow up, delivered through engagement with and investment in communities around their stores.

The programme has become a central element of their mission to become Britain’s most trusted retailer and has become a major success in the borough of Antrim.

Highlights from the 2013 Antrim Community Life programme include 403 wolunteering hours in the community; Asda Antrim was used as a community venue for meetings on 112 occasions; fundraising total from their Antrim store – £63,000 for local charities and £4,000 for national charities; Chosen By You Given By Us donations total £1,800 for local groups, funded by the Asda Foundation.
