Appeal over car fires

Police are appealing for information following two separate incidents of criminal damage in Antrim on Sunday night, August 3.

Shortly before 10.40pm it was reported that a car parked in the area of Tower Way had been set on fire.

Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene and the fire was extinguished. Damage was caused to the car as a result.

Shortly after 11.30pm, it was reported that a car parked in the area of Hollowburn Road had been set on fire. Again, Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene and the fire was extinguished.

Damage was caused to the car as a result.

The two incidents are not believed to be linked and police are working to establish a motive for both incidents.

Police would ask anyone who may have witnessed the incidents or who has any information to contact them at Antrim PSNI Station on the non-emergency number 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
