Appeal after cat is injured in pellet gun incident

Police in Antrim are appealing for information after a cat was injured after being shot by a pellet gun.

The incident happened in the Beechfields area on Wednesday, July 9.

Sometime between 7pm and 11.45pm, the pet cat Judy was shot through its left eye by a pellet gun.

The pellet has lodged in the cat’s head and following surgery it is expected to survive but may lose its eye.

Police are appealing to anyone who was in the Beechfields area and who may have seen any suspicious activity or anyone who has any information which may assist them with their enquiries to contact officers in Antrim on the non emergency number 101.

Information can also be passed anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
