Antrim blooms with Garden Show Ireland

Garden Show Ireland is set to take root in its new home at Antrim Castle Gardens.

This weekend will see an expanded new look Garden Show Ireland which will include appearances by Alys Fowler from BBC Gardeners’ World; Ireland’s world-renowned plantswoman Helen Dillon; and Bunny Guinness, winner of six Chelsea gold medals, author and regular panelist on BBC’s Gardeners’ Question Time.

With thousands of specialist plants, great garden shopping, garden designers and show gardens, a craft village, a free design pavilion, artisan food stalls, live music, garden gourmet, garden challenges, a dedicated kids zone and more, the event promises to be the ultimate garden show experience for gardeners of all ages and experiences.

Thanks to Translink, getting around Antrim throughout the weekend will be even easier with a free shuttle bus for all visitors to Garden Show Ireland and a special ‘Green Discount’ for any visitor showing a bus or rail ticket on entrance to the show.

Mayor of Antrim, Cllr Roderick Swann, said: “Antrim is the perfect staycation next weekend with so much to see and do. Garden Show Ireland has an exciting line up for both gardening enthusiasts and garden chefs.

“What brings it all together is the great transport network provided by Translink, with their free shuttle bus and special family tickets.”

Claire Faulkner, Director of Garden Show Ireland, added: “This is an exciting weekend in Antrim and Garden Show Ireland is thrilled to be at this stunning new venue.  

“To make it as easy as possible for visitors coming to the Show we have teamed up with Translink to offer a free shuttle service and the added bonus of a “Green’” discount on tickets for those availing of Bus or Rail transport over the weekend.”

Visitors to Garden Show Ireland who present their Translink Bus or Rail ticket at the gate will get £1 off admission.

Translink’s Courtesy Shuttle will run throughout the weekend to take visitors from the Bus and Rail Centre and from the show’s two car parks, at Junction One and Enkalon Industrial Estate and back.

Ciaran McHugh, Translink Antrim, said: “We’ve a wide range of great value tickets to bring people to Antrim such as our ‘Family and Friends’ ticket offering unlimited all-day bus and rail travel for up to 2 adults and 4 children for just £20 (available Saturday & Sunday).”
