Robert Jones from Christians Against Poverty is presented with the ACE Award for Voluntary Group (Contribution), from Mayor of Antrim, Roderick Swann, and Andrew Lowry, general manager of Omniplex Antrim, award sponsor.

The winner of the Antrim Community Excellence Award for Voluntary Group (Contribution) is Christians Against Poverty.

Christians Against Poverty is a voluntary organisation which was established in Antrim approximately two years ago.

Robert Jones and the other volunteers have dedicated their time and commitment to help families who have fallen into debt and the work they do is invaluable.

They do it without reward or payment.

Here’s what their nominator had to say about them: “They have supported me through debt, a job loss and the loss of my father. They have helped me move home and ran me to and from hospital when my mum was in hospital. “They provide a food outreach service to the community and have assisted many families within the local and surrounding areas of Antrim.”
