Netta Tait was presented with the Antrim Community Excellence Award for Good Neighbour for working tirelessly to make every newcomer to the street welcome, regardless of race or creed.

Despite being in her late 80s, she bakes wonderful dishes and gives them to those ‘old people’ she feels less fortunate than herself. She invites lonely people to share meals with her.

She is simply everyon’es favourite grandmother and is totally selfless despite having suffered personal tragedy in her own life with the loss of ther son in a motorbike accident 20 years ago.

Netta’s motto is that there is no situation that cannot be made better by the gift of a perfect pavlova.
