Sports Minister Carál Ní Chuilín has confirmed Derry City FC 'will be one of a number of clubs eligible to apply for funding under the proposals for the Sub Regional [stadia] Programme' after being asked about the club's status by Traditional Unionist Voice (TUV) MLA Jim Allister.

Before Christmas Mr Allister asked why beneficiaries didn’t have to be affiliates of the IFA and if that was designed to qualify the Brandywell.

Following a fresh enquiry, Ms Ní Chuilín again stated that Derry City FC does qualify for funding.
