Sixteen jobs are to be created over the next three years in Antrim through a £2million expansion by McQuillan Envirocare.

Enterprise, Trade and Investment Minister Arlene Foster and Environment Minister Mark H Durkan were in the town last week to officially open McQuillan Envirocare’s new bespoke chemical treatment facility which will allow the company to further develop their service to some of Northern Ireland’s leading businesses.

Minister Foster described the expansion as “welcome news” for Antrim and said it “demonstrates how a locally owned, family firm who have been operating for over 100 years can continue to deliver advanced, high quality waste management service to clients”.

The company provides total waste management services alongside sister company McQuillan Skip Hire. The new plant will handle hazardous and non-hazardous liquid waste via recovery and physio chemical treatments.
