Plans submitted for new hotel in Ballymena
PLANS have been submitted to build a 60-bedroom hotel on the outskirts of Ballymena.
Beechview Developments, owned by Bryan Orr, has submitted the plan to build a budget hotel on a nine-acre site on Ballee Road East.
The development site, close to the Larne Road roundabout, is on the same stretch of road where Green Pastures church is planning to develop a village complex.
The planning application states that the intention is to attract an major operator such as Premier Inn or Travelodge.
The plan also includes a petrol station and a park and ride facility.
The developer said the proposal represents an investment of £8m, which has the potential to create about 80 permanent jobs.
