MEMBERS of the Family Caring Centre in Antrim's Women's Support Group have been working hard in recent weeks in aid of the Linda McDonald Foundation's Bulgarian Orphanage Appeal.
Week by week, the members have came to the centre to knit and crochet items for the orphanage, with blankets, cardigans, matinee coats, hats, scarves and gloves among the many items.

Those unable to knit lent their support by buying items such as baby clothes, toys, feeding bottles, nappies, soap and various toiletry items.

Helping Hands knitting group in Randalstown have been an inspiration to the group, and have knitted a large quantity of cardigans and cot blankets for the orphange appeal.

A spokesperson for the group said: "We hope that with a bit more publicity, more firms and people will get in touch with us and give donations, as the Linda McDonald Foundation is doing a magnificent job out in Bulgaria."

The group has amassed a mountain of items to go out to Bulgaria and the next container lorry is scheduled to leave at the end of June.
